The Story Behind
Hollow Oak Acres
At Hollow Oak Acres we have been busy raising a small herd of Nigerian dwarf goats. We breed, and give the utmost love and care to the delivering doe. When the babies are weaned we continue milk by hand at least twice a day.
This provides fresh goat milk that we make several skin and body care products for you to enjoy.
Meet the family.
Hi, I’m Shelley, and welcome to Hollow Oak Acres.
As a wife, mother, daughter, business woman and farm hand my days are full. I have been blessed with a happy optimistic outlook which sometimes gets me into trouble. I always think I can. My supportive husband Ike and I have 5 children who are mostly grown now, and four of our kids live at home while attending High school or College.
My parents Charlie and Gayle also reside at Hollow Oak Acres helping care for animals, keeping up the grounds and staying actively involved in the grandkids sports, activities and being part of a family that continues to grow together.
Let me share my passion with you…
We love our animals (which are part of the family too) 1 dog, and 3 grand-dogs, 2 cats, 2 cows, 6 goats, 50 laying hens and a rooster keeps me busy and happy. I love to cook and bake for family and friends. Host events and create an experience people can enjoy in the country, our little slice of heaven on earth.
What else, you guessed it, making goat milk soap just seemed to be the next step for me. Creating all natural, healthy skin care products has become my new passion.
Just add a little Sugar & Spice
It all started with a little Sugar and Spice. They lived with us in our home for the next four weeks of their life. We formed a new little love and friendship as we bottle fed these two watching them leap, jump, and play in our newly remodeled home my husband built (that's another story).
We loved them so much we decided to add Lily and Willow a year later to our farm. Yes, they also lived in the house taking up temporary residency in the living room as we bottle fed, played and started to learn about their little personalities and nurture a growing friendship.
All of our products are handcrafted in small batch at Hollow Oak Acres.
We believe that making a good healthy product for our skin (our largest living organ) is just as important as our packaging.
We strongly believe that being environmentally conscience is our commitment to making our earth a little greener.
